Maine Dental Health Out-Reach Inc.

Since the 2006-2007 School Year MSAD 11 has partnered with Maine Dental Heath Out-Reach Inc(MDHO). MDHO is a non-profit organization that travels to our schools to provide free dental care for our students that do not see a dentist on a regular basis. During the 2006-2007 school year 36 students received oral health education and had their teeth screened, cleaned and floridated.

MSAD 11 Take Time

MSAD 11 has been participating in a program called Take Time since the 2004-2005 school year. Take Time is a physical activity program where the classroom teacher integrates physical activity into the normal class day. The teacher chooses may to jump rope and count by 2s or may decide to go for a walk to boost their student's brain function.

Coordinated School Health Program

Since June of 2001, MSAD 11 has been receiving a grant from the State of Maine. The money comes from the Fund for A Healthy Maine which is Maines share of the 1998 Master Tobacco Settlement. This grant has enabled MSAD 11 to implement an award-winning Coordinated School Health Program.
