Post- Secondary Planning
Earning your high school diploma is a great accomplishment. It marks the end of your formal, free public education and the beginning of many new and exciting opportunities. Pursuing these opportunities will mean that you will need to make informed choices and making informed choices can best be done through exploration and planning.
There are many ways to gather information. During grade 10 at Gardiner Area High School students are expected to take the required Career and Technology Class. The CHOICES program is available for student use within this course. CHOICES can help guide students through identifying interests, work, and personal values. It will also help to identify skills you have to offer. This program also provides detailed career descriptions and outlines the training needed to pursue each career. Students should begin an electronic portfolio.
The PLANNER module of this program provides you with an opportunity to create both an action plan, a personal resume and an electronic portfolio.
The Self-Assessment & Career Planning section offered on this site, as well as the Choices program is the best place to start.
