APPOINTMENTS TO BOARD COMMITTEES
Appointment to standing committees shall be consistent with the following:
A. All standing committees members shall consist of five (5) members. The chair in making assignments to these committees, shall endeavor to assure geographic representation on each committee.
B. The Committee shall elect a Chair after a general reorganization of all committees has taken place, or a committee chair vacates the position
C. The Chairs of each committee shall work collaboratively with the Superintendent to develop meeting agendas. The Chair shall make reports to the full Board as appropriate.
D. Special (ad hoc) board committees may be established by the chair as
necessary. Such committees shall continue in existence for a period no longer
than one year from date of the next organizational meeting unless specifically
voted to continue for another year. In any event, any special board committee
shall be considered dissolved when the purpose for which it was created shall
have been declared accomplished by the chair.
E. Any member of the board may attend and participate in the discussion at any
meeting of any committee, but only appointed members of the committee shall have the right to vote. Written announcements of all committee meetings shall be forwarded to the membership of the entire board. Committee meetings are open to the public.
F. A quorum of a committee consists of a majority of the appointed members.
