Sailing of the Mayflower!

Mrs. Carey's and Ms. Coolidge's classes completed their studies of Thanksgiving by hosting a Thanksgiving Feast in Laura Richards' gymnasium. Prior to the feast, students enjoyed center activities in the gym, such as making music with instruments like the Native Americans would have used, fishing for letters, building log forts, and making bead necklaces. The students also enjoyed making pumpkin bread and trail mix for the feast.
Then, it was time to "set sail" with a paper version of the Mayflower! Mrs. Moody, dressed as a turkey, led the procession of Pilgrims and Native Americans through the hall to the gym where they danced to the "Chicken Dance" and "feasted" on turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and pie.
Enjoy the pictures!
