MSAD #11 Guidance Curriculum

Please know that all curriculum documents are a work in progress. Most MSAD #11 curriculum documents were developed in 2002. These documents have been adjusted over time. New, updated curriculum documents will be posted some time in 2008.

The document below was created by the guidance counselors and Career Prep instructors of MSAD # 11. While working on this document, we were determined to spend time talking about two important issues:

*what currently is and
*what could be.

As is often the case, the actual and the ideal do not perfectly align. Time constraints, staffing numbers, resources, and financial constraints impact what happens on a day-to-day basis within the context of guidance counseling.

We have tried to fairly depict where our programs are today and what we do while also believing that our district must continue on a path of continual introspection and improvement.

We submit this document as a statement of our belief in our positive impact on the students and communities represented in the MSAD # 11 district.
