Physical Setting The student will use knowledge of radioactive decay as well as graph construction and interpretation skills to determine the age of rocks in part I. In part II he/she will use the age of rock samples, computer research, and deductive reasoning to determine the chronological order of the rocks as well as the super-continent formation. Also in part II, the student will use sample fozzilized remains to create a theory of plate movement through time as well as critique the model and process. Students will answer various questions throughout regarding radioactivity, geologic time, and the concept of plate tectonics.
