The student will use knowledge of radioactive decay as well as graph construction and interpretation skills to determine the age of rocks in part I. In part II he/she will use the age of rock samples, computer research, and deductive reasoning to determine the chronological order of the rocks as well as the super-continent formation. Also in part II, the student will use sample fozzilized remains to create a theory of plate movement through time as well as critique the model and process. Students will answer various questions throughout regarding radioactivity, geologic time, and the concept of plate tectonics.
