POLICY COMMITTEE MEETING
CENTRAL OFFICE BOARD ROOM
TUESDAY, MARCH 11, 2008

MINUTES

Present: Heather Dunn, Chair, Steve Hunnewell, Candace Avery, Robert Brown, Paul Knowles,
Howie Tuttle

Absent: Ginger Shaw

I. Mrs. Dunn called the meeting to order at 6:02 pm

II. Discussion/Vote
A. The Committee reviewed and discussed Policy GBN-R2

B. Mr. Tuttle reviewed revised Policy IKA

VOTED:4-0 Motion by Ms. Avery, seconded by Mr. Hunnewell to send Policies
GBN-R2 and IKA to the Board for a 1st Reading

C. Mr. Tuttle Reviewed the proposal to move to trimesters for K-5
progress/grade reporting.

VOTED: 4-0 Motion by Mrs. Dunn, seconded by Ms. Avery to take the quarters to
trimesters proposal for grades PK-5 to the Board for a 1st reading.

D. The Committee had the 2nd reading of the following policies:
1. EBCA/Comprehensive Crisis Response Plan
2. IMG-Animals in Schools
3. JEA-Compulsory Attendance
4. JHB-Truancy
5. JLF-Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect
6. KHB-Advertising in the Schools
7. ADC-Tobacco Use and Possession

VOTED: 4-0 Motion by Ms. Avery, seconded by Mrs. Dunn to send Policies
EBCA, ADC, IMG, JEA, JHB, JLF, KHB to the Board for a 2nd Reading/Adoption

The Meeting was adjourned at 6:44 p.m.
