Jump Rope for Heart
Our school is once again participating in a very special community service project, Jump Rope for Heart. This is our 15th year holding this event. Our students have raised more than $72,6000.00 for the American Heart Association. As Physical Education instructors at our school, we will be coordinating this event with the help of our school nurse. It will be held the Friday after April vacation (May 1st) during the school day. Jump Rope for Heart is sponsored by the American Heart Association. The money will fund AHA’s research, public education and community programs. During the event students will work together in teams, taking turns jumping and resting. The students will be supervised to monitor their jumping and ensure their safety.
Your child will be given a Sponsor Envelope when the signed permission slip is returned to the school. He/She will be asking family and friends to sponsor his/her participation in the event. Prizes are awarded to participants depending on the amount of money each raises. The prize information is on the collection envelope.
If you would like your child to participate in our Jump Rope for Heart event this year, please fill out this permission slip for your child and return by: April 14th.
**Students who raise $50.00 or more will be invited to participate in an after school activity session to include rollerblading, climbing wall, DDR/Game Bike and more. The date will be announced some time in April.
If you would like more information concerning this event, please feel free to contact Paula Goodhue or Drew Riddle at the school (582-1326).
