Dear Parent(s):
Throughout the school year we try to keep staff and students prepared for any emergency that might present itself during the course of our school day. For that purpose we have a Crisis Response Team that meets during each school year to review and adjust our Crisis Response Plan.
The best way to assure we are prepared is to have practice drills. While it is normal for us to run frequent fire drills, I do want to remind you that we also practice lockdown drills. These lockdown drills are run with the help of our Gardiner Police Department and generally take place without warning. Our Crisis Response Team began plans for a Lockdown drill before the break, but in light of recent events we felt it was important that we remind you that emergency drills are a normal piece to our preparedness and that we will have an unscheduled lockdown drill in the near future. I want to assure you that staff and students are rehearsing the procedures so that these drills will run smoothly and students will feel comfortable with the process.
Respectfully,
Al Ghoreyeb, Principal
