Athletic Programs
Students may participate in a variety of Athletic Programs at Gardiner Regional Middle School. The three goals of participation in this program are: 1) Meeting Educational Requirements. 2) Displaying positive Sportsmanship. 3) Developing Individual and Team Athletic Skills.
In order to participate, students must have a physical on file, and a parent permission slip turned in prior to trying out for the sport. Both documents can be downloaded and printed from the bottom of this page or picked up in the main office of the middle school.
Eligibility guidelines for participating are as follows:
Academics:
Eligibility will be checked via Powerschool Wednesday of each week.
Students who earn failing grades will be suspended from the activity until the failure is made up. They will not be allowed to practice or participate in games/matches.
Behavior:
If a student receives 3 detentions during the season, this will result in suspension from the team for the remainder of the season.
Coaches will determine consequences of single detentions received during the season.
Students may not participate in an activity until detentions are served.
Other behavior problems will be dealt with by the coach and the athletic administrator.
Schedules
Schedules will be passed out by coaching staff at the first practice and will be posted online. Athletes are required to make all scheduled team events.
