No Child Left Behind Act
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Please be aware that a new federal education law, known as the No Child Left Behind Act, has brought many changes to education. One of the changes permits both institutions of higher learning (universities, colleges, etc.) and military recruiters access to student names, addresses and telephone numbers. Parents, legal guardians and students 18 years old or older do have the right under the law to deny release of this information to either or both parties.
If you do not wish this information to be shared with institutions of higher learning or military recruiters, please complete the applicable form found below, print and return it to the Guidance Office.
If this form is not signed and returned, the school will release this information when requested. Please note that the law requires us to inform you of this law each year in order to provide you with an annual opportunity to “opt outâ€Â.
