GREETINGS FROM PITTSTON SCHOOL
‘WHERE LIFE IS GOOD!â€Â
TIME: Something so special, so precious, yet escapes us so quickly. It is hard to believe that in just two weeks we will be on winter break. Students and teachers are still not feeling well, so we often find the vacation much needed. Pleae, if your child is not feeling well, do not send them to school ill. It just passes the germs along and more of the students become sick. We would like you to know that if your child is ill with a temperature or vomiting we will call you to come and pick them up from school.
February 6 will be our 100th day of school. K-2 will be celebrating with a variety of wonderful activities. It should be a fun day for all.
On Feb. 8, our fourth graders will be taking the NAEP test, which is a federal test that reflects our Nation's Report Card. All fourth graders will be a part of this and will be tested in either reading or math. Pittston School is quite honored to be a part of our Nation’s Report Card.
Within the next few weeks, you will be receiving information for our After School Clubs. They will begin on March 6 and continue through April 10. We will have busing available to take the children home beginning at 4:15 p.m. Please look for this sign up sheet for all of our students.
The week of Feb. 12, is designated as Cabin Fever Week. Each day the children will be invited to take part and wear different items as a way to encourage School Spirit. Please look for the list of days in this newsletter.
Lastly and most importantly, please support our school and join us for our combined Randolph/Pittston Community Forum on Thursday, Feb. 15 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Pittston Cafeteria. This will provide an opportunity for both communities to make a decision on a new school for Pittston and/or Randolph. It is up to YOU!!! Please mark your calendar and do all you can to attend. We need your voice.
Stay warm!
Until Next Time....
