School Vision
At River View Community School we are learners who passionately and courageously pursue knowledge, set achievable goals, embrace creativity, think critically, and actively contribute to our community, thereby finding joy in our lives.
Wigwams of the Northern Forest
Ms. Storey's and Mr. White’s third grade students completed their wigwams of the Northern Forests project by doing individual presentations and then by hosting a walkthrough for students from other grades. These projects are wonderful and will be on display in the River View front hall.
Ms. Green's Class Has A Special Guest
Friday, December 21st was the last day before our holiday break. To celebrate a semester of hard work, Ms. Green's class had a pajama day with a roster of guest readers. Teachers, parents, and support staff were on the list of guests that included Ms. Hopkins our superintendent. These folks brought in a favorite story to share while the students reclined on their quilts. Everyone had a warm and relaxing day.
Ms. Storey's Third Grade Connects With GSB
Ms. Storey's third grade has been exchanging letters with their pen-pals in Ms. Babcock's third grade at Great Salt Bay School in Damariscotta. In past years the two schools have made the journey to visit each other's classroom and have an opportunity to spend time together. This year, Ms. Storey and Ms. Babcock decided to have the students connect on Skype using the Tandberg video equipment. Students had a chance to introduce themselves, share projects and say Happy Holidays.
Students Get ready For The day
Students from Ms. Storey's Class and Mr. White's Class take time in the morning to get an active start on the day. Students dance to lively music, but when the music stops and Ms. Storey holds up a chart, everyone gets into the stretching position shown. This is part of the Get Active initiative here at River View.
