Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive

 Hi Folks,

The move to red has limited the number of days we have to collect canned food for the Thanksgiving Baskets Food Drive. There are 3 different ways you can help out:

1. Students: Through your clubs/sports teams. We have a competition where  the top 3 clubs/teams that bring in the most canned and non-perishable food can win a monetary prize.   Each club/team will collect food until Tuesday, November 17th, and keep their contributions in the advisor/coaches room. For those coaches that do not work in the high school, Ms. Boudreau has offered for your team members to turn their contributions into her in room 401.  On Tuesday, November 17th, the club advisors or  coaches will have their members bring what they have collected to Mrs. Tran's room to be counted in room 402.   NHS members will tally up the total, and we should have our winners by Thursday morning.  The prizes are 1st place $100, 2nd place $75, and 3rd place $50.

2. Also, an individual student can earn up to 10 hours of community service by bringing contributions to Mrs. Tran in room 402 during homeroom anytime between Monday, November 9th, and Friday, November 20th. Here is the breakdown for community service hours: 4 cans = 1hour, 10 cans = 3 hours, and 1 turkey = 3 hours.  The maximum community service hours you can receive are 10 hours.  Mrs. Tran will keep a tally in her room to turn into Ms. Pare.

3. Community Folks: We also are setting up drop off times for members in the community to contribute.  We will have drop-off times from 3 - 5 pm on Tuesday, November 17th, and Thursday, November 19th, in front of the high school.  Please pass this along to any community members you see.  Thank you for your support.   We have set a goal of 250 baskets this year.  The need is great.

Thank you for your support
