Senior  –  Noel Frith

Musical ensembles that you’ve performed in at GAHS  -  Band

Number of years in Band and/or Chorus (Elementary through High School)  -  8

Instrument(s) you play in Band and/or your vocal part in Chorus - Clarinet

What are your plans for after high school (college, major, job, etc.)? - Go to college, Major in Biology, and receive my teacher's certification.

What is your favorite piece(s) that you’ve performed in high school? - Celtic Lullaby

What is your favorite musical moment in high school?  -  Performing our piece, Remember, that was commissioned for Taby for the first time. The piece was beautiful and the emotion we put into performing it and the emotion in the room made it even prettier and close to our hearts.

How has being involved in the high school music department impacted you?  -  Most all of my classes I take at the hardest levels that are offered, and for purely educational reasons, but the music department provided a place for me to spend time with people who enjoy music like I do. It gave me a space to further my education in something that I wanted to simply because it was something I enjoyed. It allowed me to take time out of my busy school schedule to enjoy an art form which tends to the heart while other classes just tend to the mind.

What words of wisdom would you share with the underclassmen music students?  -  Particularly to the really busy students, even if it takes your last bit of free time, and you have to squeeze it in during a lunch every other day, take a class with the music department. It can be band or chorus, but find a way to get in that room and do something other than push the pencil on the paper.

Congratulations, Noel!  Thank you for your dedication to the band and for sharing your musical talents with us for all of these years!!
