Every year the Kennebec County Medical Society invites area high schools to write on the topic:  "An Important Health Issue for Teenagers in the World Today." This year GAHS English classes had rich discussions in developing their essays.

In the end, GAHS juniors ruled the day!  Pictured left to right:  Oliver Blanchard, $100 for Honorable Mention; Sophia Staniszewsk, $500 for Second Place; Jaimie Frye, $100 for Honorable Mention; and Jordan Snell, $1,000 for First Place.  Well done, all!

We'd like to extend a big thank you to KC Medical Society president Dr. Michael Szela and administrative assistant Lisa Martin for sponsoring the contest and celebrating our students' achievements at a reception at the Augusta center.
