VFW Contest: What Makes America Great?

The Library Commons and VFW Post #9 recently hosted an award ceremony to recognize students who participated in this year’s Voice of Democracy Audio Essay Contest. This is an annual national contest open to all GAHS students. This year’s theme was What Makes America Great. At the post level, freshman Shawn Jiminez placed first; senior Hiedi Marquis-Grover placed second; and senior Zach Libby placed third. Shawn went on to place first in the VFW local district level and finished fourth in the Maine competition. Congratulations to all!
