First Day of School Celebration

Laura Richards School Community welcomed family and students to the 2017-18 school year.  Families enjoyed a "Meet and Greet" with community members while students settled into their classrooms.  Many thanks to all the community members who were able to attend to share information and resources with our families.

Shortly after, we held our first school assembly of the year to welcome everyone back and recognize new staff members.  Students were greeted by Mayor Thom Harnett and Gardiner Police Chief James Toman with high fives as they entered our gym.  Many thanks to Mike Michlon who was our guest speaker and entertained us with his juggling skills!  His message, "Everyone has something special they can do" was a great follow up to the book that was read, Chu's First Day of School.

We also wish to thank Katherine Kollman who organized the event for us again this year.  This marks our 10th year having a "First Day of School Celebration"!
