Number of years in Band and/or Chorus (Elementary through High School) - Band - 8 years, Chorus - 9 years

Instrument(s) you play in Band and/or your vocal part in Chorus - Band - Alto Saxophone, Chorus - Alto

What are your plans for after high school (college, major, job, etc.)? - I plan to attend college and receive my degree in neonatal nursing. I hope to find a great job as a neonatal nurse, working with babies and helping a whole lot of families.

What is your favorite piece(s) that you’ve performed in high school? – Concert Band - Flight of Valor, Pep Band - Seven Nation Army & The Horse, Chorus - Amazing Grace & The Awakening, Select Choir - Hallelujah & Hold Me Rock Me

What is your favorite musical moment in high school? - I love pep band and the games we get to play at. I have loved to watch the band get so excited about our sports teams and watching everyone cheer the teams on and participating in dressing up with the student section. I also love participating in the musical and getting to work closely with many of my friends in a theatrical setting and being able to create such amazing shows and experience that with all the people I love.

How has being involved in the high school music department impacted you? - The music department has given me so much over the past four years. It has given me so many friends that I'm not sure I could've made it through high school without. The music department has also given me a safe place to go to when I'm sad or stressed or don't know where to turn. The department has shown me who I am as a person and all that gives me joy; music. The music department has truly shaped me into the person I am and it will always be my second home.

What words of wisdom would you share with the underclassmen music students? - To underclassmen music students: high school is what you make of it, and you only get these years once. Live in the moment, get involved, try your hardest and remember to have fun! Don't let small things get you down! Have fun with your friends, go to events in the school, participate in spirit week and ALWAYS DANCE DURING PEP BAND SONGS! P.S. - Don't forget to call Mr. Walker 'Big Daddy Dave' every once in a while. :)

Congratulations, Ellie! Thank you for your dedication to the band and chorus and for sharing your musical talents with us for all of these years!!  Dad loves you!
