GoingGreen

Dear Families,

We are excited to welcome students back in our “Green Model.”  Our timeline for going green is:

March 1st:  Cohort A and B students in Kindergarten-Grade 2 will attend school in person on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.  Wednesdays are also considered a day of school and students will have independent work to complete in SeeSaw at home.

March 15th: Cohort A and B students in Grades 3-5 will attend school in person on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.  Wednesdays are also considered a day of school and students will have independent work to complete in SeeSaw or Google Classroom at home.

Cohort C:  Will continue in the fully remote learning model.  If you would like your child to move into or out of Cohort C, you will be able to make that change at the start of Trimester 3 on March 15th.  Please call the school if you intend to make this transition for Trimester 3.

 6 Safety Requirements will Continue:

Symptom Screening at Home Before Coming to School: for all Staff and Students

  1. Physical Distancing and Facilities:  All staff and students need to remain 3-6 feet apart whenever possible.  Classrooms and cafeterias have been set up to meet this requirement.  Students will need to be 6 ft. apart to take off their masks for eating.

  2. Masks/Face Coverings: Masks/face coverings need to be worn by everyone during the school day and on the bus, covering both nose and mouth. Mask breaks are built into the daily schedule. A clean mask should be worn daily.

  3. Hand Hygiene: All students and staff must wash hands or use sanitizing gel upon all transitions, including in/out of classrooms, bus, and playground, and after using the bathroom and eating.

  4. Personal Protective Equipment & Thorough Cleaning/Sanitizing

  5. Return to School after Illness - Sick staff members and students must stay home until they meet criteria for returning to school. Please contact the school nurse, Heidi Hinckley at 724-3930 to discuss return.

Bussing:  The shift to green may result in longer bus rides and may require slight changes to pick up/drop off times. Some buses will require more than one student per seat. Siblings and students who attend the same daycare may need to sit together.  Students will continue to wear masks and sanitize their hands upon entry to the buses. If there are any changes to your child’s bussing, please contact Transportation at 582-6663.

In the spirit of growing and learning,

Mrs. Gould
