The Library Commons Book Club sponsored and partnered with the Interact Club and Civil Rights Team to participate in the Big Read Challenge. Emmerson, a senior at GAHS reflected, "The experience brought three clubs together to connect and to read and discuss important issues related to diversity."

The challenge featured unlimited ebook and audiobook availability of I'm Not Dying with You Tonight by Gilly Segal and Kimberly Jones on Overdrive through the Library Commons website. Students read the book and participated in a global discussion forum with library patrons from around the world. The clubs met together before school, discussed the book, and had a drawing for prizes ranging from a voucher for prom tickets to a variety of gift certificates.

Shawn, a GAHS freshman, shared, "The book was well-chosen for a reading challenge. It really opened eyes for many people about stereotypes. It was amazing to see the opinions and experiences people have had with race relations around the world."
