The Tiger Bookmobile and Ms. Butterfield have been prowling the halls and visiting English classes to help students get their next great read. Students have been exploring the Library Commons website learning about new features in the Destiny Discover library catalog such as putting books on hold, making favorite lists, and writing reviews for books in our library collection. Students have also been exploring Sora, our collection of ebooks and audiobooks that are available as part of a statewide consortium.

This year the Library Book Club is reading books from the new North Star Young Adult Award, a new statewide program to promote reading in our high schools. Any GAHS student or staff member who reads three of these books and submits a brief review online for each one in our library catalog  be eligible to vote for the favorite Northstar book of the year. Those students who vote will also be entered in a contest to win a variety of prizes sponsored by the Library Commons.

Books are being delivered to students during advisory. Students may browse in the Library Commons during advisory in the morning, study halls, and after school from 2 to 3 PM Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays.  Cohort C students may contact Mrs. Wheelock (kwheelock@msad11.org) for book pick up on Wednesdays too.  American Library Association guidelines for safe browsing and book quarantining are being followed.

It is a reading revolution at Gardiner Area High School!
