What are your plans for after high school (college, major, job, etc.)?  -  I plan to earn a bachelor’s degree and then become a robotics engineer.

What honors festival have you participated in?  -  The District III Honors Band Festival and the All New England Band Festival.

What is your favorite piece(s) that you’ve performed in high school?  -  The Legend of Sleepy Hallow, Paper Cut, and Shout It Out - not necessarily because of Shout It Out itself, but I have really enjoyed all of the time the trombone section has spent together learning how to do the trombone section choreography for the song.

What is your favorite musical moment in high school?  -  One of my favorite musical moments in high school is the entirety of the musical Anything Goes. I made some amazing memories during the show, and the bond the cast had was like no other I have ever been a part of.

How has being involved in the high school music department impacted you?  -  The high school music department has made me a better person! It has taught me so much, between musical skills and life skills. The people in the music program have become one of my many families the past four years, and for that I am forever grateful.

What words of wisdom would you share with the underclassmen music students?  -  Don't be afraid to put yourself out there. Try out for the things you don't think you'll ever get into and introduce yourself to people in the band who you don't know. Who knows that person could become your new best friend! I know it sounds cheesy, but take every moment for granted, because these musical moments will be some of the best moments of your high school career!

Congratulations, Kyla!  Thank you for your dedication to the band and chorus and for sharing your musical talents with us for all of these years!!
