The Gardiner Tigers Cyberstart Team sponsored by the Library Commons recently finished a strong sixteenth out of seventy Maine teams competing in a national competition to promote student understanding of cyber security and related careers. Kiersten Weed initially accepted the challenge and helped organize a team because she likes puzzles and riddles. Audrey Palmer and Abigail Folsom shared Kiersten’s enthusiasm for learning about coding, new developer tools, and Linux and Python. The team was impressed by the variety of creative challenges that increased in complexity at the variety of levels. They enjoyed thinking outside of the box while doing a logic puzzles.
