From Pat Hopkins, MSAD 11 Superintendent of Schools: Due to the tragic event in Lewiston last evening and the on-going search for the suspect, all schools and the Central Office in MSAD 11 will be closed today, Thursday, October 26. Without knowing the location of the suspect, who is a resident of Bowdoinham and who has connections to Gardiner, bringing the students and staff together is simply not safe. My heart goes out to the victims, families and those impacted by this senseless act of violence. Hug your loved ones and keep them close. Please be safe.

Pat Hopkins, MSAD 11 Superintendent of Schools: Today, Thursday, September 7, school will be dismissed early due to the heat. While a few of our buildings have pockets of air conditioning, the majority of our classrooms do not and three days into this weather pattern, we have classrooms in the 90’s and buses that are even hotter. Gardiner Area High School and Gardiner Regional Middle School will be dismissed today at 11 am and the elementary schools will be dismissed at 12 noon. No pm pre-k. I apologize for the inconvenience.

GRMS Girl's Fall Soccer Season Before you know it, it will be Fall Soccer season!  We’re hoping this information will help you plan ahead.   August 30 and 31 - Tryouts on the GRMS soccer field 5:15-6:30 for all potential players.  Thursday, August 31 - players will be told which team they made at the end of tryouts that evening. Sept 1 - Sept 4 - Enjoy the long weekend with family and friends. Sept 5 - Sept 7 - Regular practice with Varsity and JV squad at the same time.  We will be doing some drills together and then break up into team drills.  Practice 5:15-6:30 Sept 8 - Depends on weekly weather.  To be determined. Paperwork and up to date physicals (within the past 2 years) will need to be completed before any player can participate in tryouts.  Reminder: Doctors offices are scheduling out several weeks for physicals.  Please be proactive and get this done before August 30.  I was told Express Care and Concentra will conduct physicals. Players need: mouth guards, shin guards, cleats, water bottle and practice socks.  The school will provide game shorts, game shirts and game socks.   I have included all players from last year's squad in this email.  Please check the GRMS Web page and Facebook for updates. Thank you and enjoy every minute of your summer! (PLEASE SHARE THIS INFORMATION)
