The electrical power has been restored to the Helen Thompson School. If you have not picked up your child yet, please do not do so, as we will remain open for the day. Any child who has been picked up can be returned, or may stay home for the day without being marked as absent. Very sorry for the inconvenience, we were told the power would be out longer.

Update: Power at school has been restored earlier than anticipated. School will remain in session for the remainder of the day. We apologize for the confusion!

The electrical power is currently out at the Helen Thompson School. Since we do not know when the power will be restored, we will dismiss students from the Helen Thompson School at 11:00 am today. In addition, the phone system is down due to the lack of power. If you need to contact the school, please call the MSAD11 central office at (207) 582-5346.

Trimester 2 Parent Pickup Change: With cold weather coming, we will shift to a drive through parent pickup at the end of the day, beginning Monday, Nov. 23rd. Parents & adults will remain in their vehicles and will enter the parking lot on the end closest to the school (just like for morning drop-off). We will sign children out with each driver in vehicles, and staff members will walk children outside to the passenger side of vehicles.

Please help us be prepared in case MSAD11 schools need to go to 100 percent Remote Meal Deliveries. We have learned a lot from our last Red Remote Meal delivery process, and have made some changes. Every family who would like meals needs to sign up now for WHEN or IF our District goes into 100 percent Remote Learning (RED MODE). Please sign up by Monday, November 23rd at 3:00 pm: https://forms.gle/uN3d9VWVGXAa3EXs6

Reminder from the school nurse: Students who plan to travel out of state (except VT and NH) must have a negative COVID test prior to returning to school, or must isolate at home and monitor for symptoms for 14 days. Please call or email Nurse Hinckley (hhinckley@msad11.org) if you are planning on traveling for the holidays to figure out a return plan for your student, or answer any questions you may have! Thank you for keeping our school community safe!

Dear Families and Guardians of Kindergarten to Grade 5 Students, I hope this email finds you well. We are in the process of wrapping up the first trimester and appreciative of the support you've offered our staff while we navigate hybrid and red learning environments with your child/ren. Trimester two will begin on Monday, November 23. Please complete this enrollment survey by Wednesday, November 18 to let us know your plans for your child/ren. Your options include: hybrid learning (2 days in-person, 3 days remote) and cohort C fully online learning. Whichever option you choose, we ask that your child remain in that model until the end of trimester two which is on March 12. If you have questions about our online learning program, please reach out to your building principal. Schedules and expectations can be discussed. If your child is in cohort C and plans on joining our hybrid program (2 days in school, 3 days remote), please help your child be prepared to wear a mask at school. Thank you! Sincerely, Angela Hardy SURVEY LINK: https://forms.gle/GYi95dg7kkT8ivnu9

Our Bus Drivers and Ed Techs are out delivering meals for those who signed up! They worked very hard to leave our school by 11:30. Please be on the lookout for them so that you can meet the bus and retrieve your meals! If you do not meet the bus and we are unable to make contact with you, your meals will not be left behind.

Dear Families, As you know, we are shifting to our red learning model for the remainder of this week. Today our school team will be preparing for live instruction for all Cohort A and B students beginning Thursday, November 5. Teachers will be reaching out to you with more specific information for class on Thursday. School officials will be collaborating with the CDC and monitoring the situation during the week. A decision will be made Friday, November 6 about the learning model for the week of November 9-13. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these circumstances! Stay safe and be well, Mrs. Gould
