The community safety concern that prompted the lock-in procedures at the Pittston-Randolph Consolidated School has been fully resolved. As a result, the lock-in procedure has been lifted and the school has resumed all regular schedules.

Due to a known safety concern within the community, the Pittston-Randolph Consolidated School is not permitting anyone entrance into the school building. Students and staff are able to walk freely throughout the building as the safety concern is not directed at the school, but within the community.
This is only being done as a precautionary measure. No threat has been made against any student, staff member or school building. As soon as we are notified that the safety concern has been addressed, the 'lock in' will be lifted and families will be notified.

Looking for Parents to Participate in School-Wide Planning...
We are looking for 1-2 parents to join a team of LER educators in designing our school Action Plan for the 25-26 school year. This is an opportunity for interested parents to join us in looking at school data and determining goals in the areas of literacy, math, behavior and attendance. We will meet at least once by the first week of October and 2-4 more times throughout the school year. Each meeting will be about one hour in length and will occur either before school from 7:30-8:30am or after school from 3-4pm (date and time TBD by planning team).
If interested, please reach out to Cris Lavigne at:
clavigne@msad11.org or 207-582-3612 x5223.
Thank you for your consideration!

Dear Families,
This week we will begin our iReady testing! iReady is our district math assessment that takes place three times each year—in the fall, winter, and spring. It is an important part of our math program and supports student learning in a couple of key ways:
Helps teachers differentiate: The results give teachers valuable information about where each student is, so they can tailor instruction to individual needs.
Creates a personalized learning path: The assessment sets up each student’s MyPath program, which is the online component of our math curriculum. Students work at their own pace in MyPath, and our goal is for them to complete about 45 minutes per week and successfully pass 1–2 lessons each week.
It’s important that students do their very best on the iReady test so their MyPath program is set at the right level for them.
The months of September and October also have students and teachers engaging in several different diagnostic tests - NWEA ELA (grade 2), Early Bird (PreK-1), Concepts of Print (K-1). These tools provide valuable information about student strengths and areas of learning focus that teachers use to help guide instruction and plan for appropriate scaffolding of lessons. It is important for students to come to school consistently and on-time, with a healthy snack to support brain function and plenty of sleep the night before.
Thank you for all you do at home to help ensure your child is ready to learn.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
In community,
Cris
