One of our Anchor Day Clubs is the School Store! Students have taken an active role in creating the store by designing signs, selecting and pricing items, and helping set everything up. They will also have the opportunity to run the store on the days it is open.

Our Newsletter Club met yesterday and has published its first newsletter about the start of Anchor Days. They interviewed staff, students, and parents and we had a fabulous start to Anchor Days! We can't wait for the next day on October 8th! A huge thank you to all of the teachers, staff and our community members who volunteered in numerous ways to kick off Anchor Days!

Our first Anchor Day is tomorrow (Thursday) and it runs from 8:45-10:45am! It's an early release school day where we start at our normal time but dismiss early. Riders will be dismissed at 11:45 and buses at noon! We are super excited about our first Anchor Day!

Teachers are already planning opportunities around leadership, school newspaper, gardening, cooking, fabric/quilting, STEM, video production, and more! We are also reaching out to members of our Gardiner community who might have a skill or passion they would enjoy sharing with our students.
We’re really excited about the opportunity to bring our community into the school and create even more meaningful experiences for our students!

Due to not having enough bus drivers for tomorrow's morning (9/4/2026) routes, bus transportation for the High School, Middle School and Elementary routes of Pittston's bus 753 have been cancelled. This cancellation is for morning routes only, and only bus 753. Afternoon transportation for bus 753 will be provided.

PowerSchool Forms
Please make sure you have logged into PowerSchool and completed all required forms. Information about accessing and completing these forms was sent home in the mail, and additional copies were available at Open House.
Morning Arrival
Students may arrive between 8:10 and 8:25 AM, either by bus or by being dropped off by a family member.
If you are dropping off your child:
Please pull into the designated drop-off lane.
Have your child remain in the vehicle until you have pulled alongside the duty staff member.
If a bus is unloading, please wait until the bus has cleared before pulling forward to the duty staff member and allowing your child to exit the vehicle.
Breakfast & Snack
Breakfast is available to all students free of charge each morning!
We also have a daily snack break, please send a snack with your child each day. A water bottle is also a great idea to help students stay hydrated throughout the school day.
Afternoon Dismissal
Please make sure your child knows how they will be getting home each day.
Bus riders: Please make sure your child knows their bus number.
Students being picked up: Please make sure your child knows who will be picking them up.
We will dismiss students who are being picked up between 2:45 and 2:55 PM. If you or another family member is picking up your child, please display your child’s first and last name on a piece of paper where the duty staff member can easily see it. Pull into the dismissal lane—the same lane used for morning drop-off—and we will call your child out to the vehicle. Any child not picked up by 3:00PM will be placed on the bus to go home.
Recess and Weather
We go outside for recess most days unless it is actively raining. While we may still have some warm days ahead, the weather can cool down quickly! Please make sure your child has a jacket or appropriate outerwear on cooler days.

Step Up Day was a great success! Our 5th grade students enjoyed a visit to the middle school, while 3rd and 4th grade students had the opportunity to meet next year's teaching teams. The LER 2nd grade students also met the 3rd grade team, explored their future classrooms, and spent time on the playground—always a favorite! We are excited to help students build confidence and enthusiasm as they prepare for the next step in their educational journey.
