A huge thank you and shout out to the Gardiner Fire Department for visiting with our students yesterday to talk about fire prevention! The truck is always a highlight along with seeing all of the gear they wear to a fire.

Tooth Protectors has a school-based program where our team travels to schools, providing preventive dental care to students in grades Pre-K through 12th grade. It has been amazing Serving Maine families since 2009!

Wednesday is Maine Apple Crunch Day! Wear RED on Wednesday and be ready to crunch into a juicy, crunchy apple at lunch from Bailey’s Orchard in Whitefield, ME.

We are so excited for Day 2 of Anchor Days tomorrow (Thursday)! This is also an early release day with dismissal for riders starting at 11:45 and buses at noon.

One of our Anchor Day Clubs is the School Store! Students have taken an active role in creating the store by designing signs, selecting and pricing items, and helping set everything up. They will also have the opportunity to run the store on the days it is open.

Our Newsletter Club met yesterday and has published its first newsletter about the start of Anchor Days. They interviewed staff, students, and parents and we had a fabulous start to Anchor Days! We can't wait for the next day on October 8th! A huge thank you to all of the teachers, staff and our community members who volunteered in numerous ways to kick off Anchor Days!

You called, we listened! Gabe and Travis trimmed the trees coming into the parking lot - it should be clear to enter now! Thank you Gabe and Travis!!!

Our first Anchor Day is tomorrow (Thursday) and it runs from 8:45-10:45am! It's an early release school day where we start at our normal time but dismiss early. Riders will be dismissed at 11:45 and buses at noon! We are super excited about our first Anchor Day!

We are excited to introduce a new program at River View called Anchor Days! On early-release days, students will have opportunities to explore interests and develop skills that aren’t always part of our regular curriculum.

Teachers are already planning opportunities around leadership, school newspaper, gardening, cooking, fabric/quilting, STEM, video production, and more! We are also reaching out to members of our Gardiner community who might have a skill or passion they would enjoy sharing with our students.

We’re really excited about the opportunity to bring our community into the school and create even more meaningful experiences for our students!

Due to not having enough bus drivers for tomorrow's morning (9/4/2026) routes, bus transportation for the High School, Middle School and Elementary routes of Pittston's bus 753 have been cancelled. This cancellation is for morning routes only, and only bus 753. Afternoon transportation for bus 753 will be provided.
