Good Morning,
I wanted to share more information regarding the decision to close school today. Early this morning, we were made aware of a potential threat that was received by a recent former student, from another individual in Maine, threatening their school.
As a precautionary measure and to prioritize the safety of everyone in our building, we decided to close the school while law enforcement investigates the situation.
Please know that the well-being of our students, staff, and families remains our highest priority. We are working closely with Superintendent Hopkins and law enforcement to ensure thorough communication and timely updates as new information becomes available. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we navigate this situation together.
Sincerely,
Lauren Arnold
Principal
Good morning, this is Pat Hopkins, MSAD 11 Superintendent of Schools. Out of an abundance of caution the Gardiner Area High School only will be closed today due to a threat against the school. The rest of the schools in MSAD 11 will remain open. My apologies for the short notice. High school students who are currently on the bus will be able to ride their bus back home.
BusRight is almost here!
If you are the parent of a bus rider, you will soon be able to create an account and view your student’s bus route, know the real-time ETA to their bus stop, set up notifications to receive alerts, and more!
We’re working hard behind the scenes to make sure our routes, stops, and contact information are accurate. On January 2nd, our drivers will begin testing the system to make sure the launch goes smoothly. As soon as BusRight is ready to roll out to the community, we’ll send you an email that walks you through how to create an account.
Please be sure that your student’s school has a valid email address on file for you!

Dear GAHS Families,
I wanted to inform you that our school implemented a brief lock-in today to allow administrators to address a student matter while maintaining the student’s privacy. During the lock-in, all students remained safely in their classrooms, and learning continued as usual. We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all our students.
Thank you for your partnership. Sincerely, Lauren Arnold, Principal

There will be a 2 hour delay to the start of school in MSAD11 today, no AM pre-k, and the Central Office will open at 9 am. The roads are very icy this morning. If road conditions do not improve by 7:00 am, it will be necessary to make today a remote day. Should that happen, you will receive another message around 7:15 am. Thank you, drive safe and enjoy your day.
Good morning again. Unfortunately, the temperature is still too low to make it safe to drive or walk to school. The roads and walkways are very icy, and because it’s so cold, the salt isn’t melting the ice. Because of this, today will be a remote learning day in MSAD11. Your child’s teacher and principal have already shared details about remote learning. If you have any questions, please email your child’s teacher or principal. The Central Office will open at noon today.

As a result, the lock-in has been lifted, and all schools have returned to their regular schedules.
