Not the First. The 27th.
There are currently 20 State funded School Based Health Centers and 6 others that are open that do not get State grant funding.
The community proposed School Based Health Center would be the 27th opened in the State of Maine.
At our Community Engagement Forum, we will hear from one of the 26 about how they operate and how it has impacted their students and their families.
Join us for the conversation.

Earlier this week Maine DOE shared a Priority Notice regarding increased risk of mosquito borne illnesses in several Maine counties, including Kennebec. Following the DOE recommendations we are sharing this notice with families and are encouraging precautions to mitigate risk. In addition, each school will have appropriate repellent available and with written request from parent or guardian, it may be applied by the school nurse. Pat Hopkins, MSAD 11 Superintendent of Schools: There is a water main break in South Gardiner that is making it necessary for us to release students at the River View Community School ONLY. In order for our transportation department to get students home before their afternoon runs, we must release students at 1 pm. I apologize for the short notice. Parents who are able to pick up their children are asked to do so. The rest of the students will be sent home on buses. Students who go to the Boys and Girls Club after school will be transported there. If you have transportation issues, please call the RV school at 582-3402 to make other arrangements.
